The Race That is High School

– Grace Ossowski

I reflect on each hour that has passed.
The tiny clock hands circle round and round,
Why do they move so very, very fast?
I just want to sleep but the alarm sounds.
I get so much homework every day.
First school, then work, eat dinner, and shower.
Due at eleven-fifty-nine they say…
Always tired, do I have the power?
So much stress, but I try to do my best.
Type away on english and history,
I study hard (don’t want to fail the test).
What’s this all for? That’s the big mystery.
I just want to relax and have some fun.
Time, just slow down! Let me become someone.
